About Twofold Textiles & Travel
An idea unfolds
Twofold was created by Jessica Warner to channel her passion for distinctive textiles and showcase the designers she’s discovered in her life and through her travels. Following the launch of her online store in 2013, Jessica led her first textile tour to Japan followed by a tour to India in 2016.
Jessica grew up in Canberra, Australia’s capital. After graduating from the Australian National University, she moved to New York, where she worked for the Guggenheim Museum and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She also nurtured her longstanding interest in textiles with classes in surface design and weaving at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In 2007, she moved to Asia with her family, spending time in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney before returning to the U.S. and settling in Boulder, Colorado.
Innovative style, old techniques: what's in a name?
Twofold seeks out designers who stand out for their inventive designs and old-world craftsmanship. "Twofold" embraces dichotomies like style/substance, functional/beautiful, traditional/contemporary, local/global.
What to expect from our small-group tours
Our goal is to provide an intimate, immersive, hands-on travel experience that connects travelers to new places through the lens of textiles and design. Our tours focus on workshops and studio visits with local designers and artisans; shopping for interesting, place-specific design; and other cultural experiences. We also include some general guided sightseeing, although this is not our main focus.
